Distilled at the Bimber distillery in London, this young distillery laid down its first casks on 26th of May 2016. This release is a special bottling available exclusively to members of the Bimber Klub. This expression was put down to mature in oak for an undisclosed length of time. Firstly in first fill ex-bourbon barrels, before being transferred for a finishing period to casks which held an Imperial Stout brewed by London based craft brewery, Brew By Numbers . Part of a limited release of 1,650 bottles, this whisky was bottled free from chill filtration and artificial colourings, at a strength of 51.2% abv.
2022 Bimber Klub release stems from our ongoing collaboration with London’s Brew By Numbers craft brewery – and unwraps a sensational new cask style that we now have in our growing inventory – imperial stout casks!
In 2022, Bimber distillery sent some ex-Bimber, ex-bourbon barrels along to BBNo. These were filled with their classic 11% imperial stout base. This robust beer was aged in Bimber barrels for 6 months with the resulting brew becoming one of the brewery’s most highly rated creations.
After the completion of this first stage of the collaboration, the now seasoned barrels were returned to Bimber, where they used them to create your 2022 Klub release. 2022 Klub release is composed of spirit initially matured in 1st fill American oak ex-bourbon barrels which were then expertly married and finished in BBNo seasoned imperial stout casks. The result offers a highly individual variation on our rich and fruity single malt – with additions of dark chocolate and an array of delicate floral nuances.
