How secure is our website?

Yes – The Golden Dram uses GoDaddy appication for hosting domain and they have put in place a number of foolproof security measures to protect our users, some of which we may not be able to disclose. GoDaddy provides SSL to  protects our buyers' transactions and provides visitors with proof of our digital identity. GoDaddy ensures that your online transactions are secure, confidential and integral and the risks associated with trading over the internet are removed. SSL is the industry standard security technology for creating an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. This link ensures that all data passed between the web server and browser remains private and integral.

Is my privacy secured?

Yes – we take your privacy very seriously and will only use any information you supply to us lawfully and for your transaction with us, by the Data Protection Act 1998. Your details will never be sold or supplied by us to any other companies.

Can I place orders over the telephone?

No - Unfortunately we do not take orders over the phone, however, we are happy to assist you with any Scotch Single Malt Whisky or popular Japanese Whisky purchase so you can make an informed decision before purchasing via our online store.

Can I still place an order if I do not want to enter my card details online?

Yes - We provide an alternative payment option when you go to checkout and transfer funds using BACS. Bank details are explicitly stated and note that once the funds are cleared in full , we will fulfill the order.

Can I send my order to a different address?

Yes - just enter the name and address of the person you want us to ship to in the 'Shipping Address' section when you are placing your order which will be different from your Billing address.

I am sending a gift and do not want to send an invoice

Yes - We are a paperless and sustainable firm, as such, soft copy invoice will be sent only to your registered mail address, and you have an option to send us a note in addition and we will help out with including any gift messages etc.

How do I redeem discounts?

Discount can be redeemed by just typing the code into the box at the bottom of your shopping basket and pressing ‘Apply’, followed by Proceed to Checkout. It’s as simple as that.

Can you gift-wrap the bottles?

No – Our top priority is that your bottles arrive unbroken and in perfect condition, so we have to pack all our orders very carefully, as such, this makes gift-wrapping impossible.

How much is the Shipping cost?

Shipping is calculated at checkout and we use a flat shipping rate for orders below £500 and is free for orders above this threshold. The costs of overseas parcel are based on the number of bottles ordered and delivery destination.

Do you ship to the USA?

Yes - Whilst our operation is purely domestic, we consider shipping to the US on a case-by-case basis.

How quickly will my delivery arrive?

We are a sustainable company and keep international environment initiative at the forefront, and we take utmost care to reduce our CO2 footprint. As such, we offer staggered delivery of any products to customers. Refer to our 'Delivery' section. On an average it will take 5-7 days.

Is there a minimum order?

No - We want our customers to enjoy one or more Single Malt Whisky without putting any restriction on minimum orders. So feel free to order one or more whisky of your choice

What happens if my parcel is damaged when it arrives?

We send parcels throughout the year, with only a handful having some problems. However, if your parcel is visibly wet or damaged, or shows signs of having been tampered with, you should either sign for it as 'Arrived Damaged' or refuse to sign for it and have it returned to us. You should contact us immediately if this happens. If you sign for your parcel and subsequently find that something inside is damaged, please take photos of the damaged box and contents before disposing of them and email them to us immediately so that we can arrange a replacement for you if we have stock readily available. Are all of your bottles available to buy online?

We aim to display most of our Single Malt Whisky on the storefront, however, sometimes we cater to our private clients who reach out to us individually to source some rare single malt whisky or popular Japanese brands. Should you need any specific products not displayed, please reach out to us using the online form and one of our team will happily oblige.

Customs and Duty Charges

If shipping outside of the UK, your order is likely to be subject to Customs duty and taxes as it arrives in the destination country. You will be contacted directly by Customs for this payment. Unfortunately, we don’t know how much the charges will be. It’s always best to get in touch with your local customs office or government website for advice before ordering.

Do you deduct VAT on orders shipped outside the UK?

Yes. Orders delivered to countries outside the UK will not have VAT (UK tax) charged on the purchase. However, note that depending on your order and the country the parcel is heading to, you may be liable to pay local taxes and duties on receipt of your order. We can’t accept liability for these.
