Tasting Notes

Nose – Layers of cherry lead: sour, purée, maraschino, jam and hints of gummi sweets. Almonds and marzipan follow, nutty and rich with Bakewell tart hints. A touch of leather develops and blows away, followed by sticky raisins and liquorice.

Palate – Brown-sugar sweetness kicks things off, with buttery pastry following before rich raisins and sweet, dried cherry. Dark chocolate develops, lightly spiced with black pepper and nutmeg. Dried orange peel and the liquorice fade in towards the end.

Finish – Dark fruit cake with singed edges fades to leave cherry and raisin. Gentle baking spice notes linger.
