Tasting Notes
Nose – Snickers-bar toffee and nuts with rich Eccles cake raisin, maraschino cherry and plump sultanas. Baking spice and dark fruit cake build, along with marshmallow fluff sweetness, grainy biscuits and chocolate – Tunnock’s teacakes in a glass.
Palate – Surprisingly soft, despite the strength, with a rich and chewy texture: tastes like toffee, feels like toffee. The sweetness from the nose continues but backed up by darker savoury notes: singed casks, burnt toast, dark rye bread and molasses.
Finish – Rich brown sugar, molasses and treacle toffee linger, sotted with flashes of dark spice.
